OUR HOUSE IS BUGGED!!! Well, at least it's filled with bugs. Box elder bugs to be exact. On sunny days, they come out of the box elder trees that surround our property, and come to sit on the side of the house where they soak up the sun.

Since our house is 150 years old, and only the downstairs bedroom and bathroom have insulation, tightly sealed windows, and no cracks (since those are the only two rooms I've finished remodeling in the past 2 years) - the bugs feel the warm air rushing out of the house, around the windows and through the siding. So they come in.

We've now determined that e-beth is either going to be a spelunker (she'll crawl under anything she can, any time she can) or an entomologist, because EVERY time she sees a bug she stops, points and says "GUH." And then her goal becomes getting to the bug and touching it. Box elder bugs are pretty slow, so that's not too difficult to do if they're down at her level. Consequently, we spend lots of time saying "Yes, bug." as we grab a tissue or, depending on the number of bugs in the room when she finally spots one, the vacuum cleaner. It will be a constant struggle until the spring comes on and it gets warmer outside than it is inside.

I start my new job tomorrow! I'm going to miss e-beth tremendously, especially after spending practically every waking moment this week with her while H worked furiously to get ahead on some of her orders. I am looking forward to the new job though. I think it will be much more challenging than what I've been doing over the past three years or so, and it will definitely improve my flash and OOP skills. It makes me think I should take some Java or C++ classes to make me more marketable. I've also got to get into more database and e-commerce solutions. I've done some, but I need to expand my skill set some more...should be fun!

Our baby has been upstairs in her crib, wide awake, talking to herself for the past hour-and-a-half. She's supposed to be sleeping. She may still have some of that green frosting running through her system from Mema and Papa's St. Patrick's Day party yesterday...which brings us to...

Since getting laid off last February, I've said on so many occasions how lucky we are that H and I can both be home with e-beth and see everything she does and watch her learn and grow everyday. I was quite surprised yesterday to find myself entertaining the idea of going back to a full-time job. If I do decide to take the plunge back into the real world, I'm really going to miss spending time with her. I'm going to miss watching her crooked little smile crawl across her face whenever I want to and being able to capture as many fun moments of her life as I have been able to. But, as H keeps reminding me "You can always just quit if you miss it too much..." She's right...again.
